VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) - July 21-25, 2008

This year's theme is SONWORLD ADVENTURE PARK

Each July, children 3 years old through 8th grade, meet for a fun-filled week of Vacation Bible School. Age appropriate Bible lessons, crafts, songs, and games are enjoyed by children from the whole community.

A special program for junior high age students (6th-8th grades) allows them opportunity to go out into the community to serve others as they learn more about God.

VBS is open to all and we encourage families to invite friends, neighbors, and family.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday school is a regular part of Sunday mornings at New Hope.

Christian education classes are offered year round for all ages. Two singing groups (pre-school through 2nd grade and 3rd - 8th grade) meet immediately after the morning worship service. At 11:00 AM Sunday school classes are offered for ages 3 - adult.

A nursery is provided for younger children. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and join in. Everyone is welcome.

SPARK - For Children age 3 through 6th grade

Spark is a weekly, Wednesday night program (Sept-Apr) that helps children put Christ in every phase of life, form healthy relationships and develop positive feelings about themselves. It helps develop the whole child in a positive Christian atmosphere.

Learning opportunities are offered weekly from the Bible. Scripture memorization is an essential component of Spark, and this skill will benefit the child throughout their entire life. Fun filled activities challenge children to develop new talents and skills and singing times offer opportunities to praise God in word and song.

All are welcome. Invite your friends and neighbors!

YOUTH GROUPS

Junior and senior high groups meet on Wednesday night. Students can start out the night with some time at "open gym" from 6:30 - 7:00 pm. group time for both age groups runs from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. This time includes Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.

Junior higher's enjoy winter and summer retreats as well as other "outings" during the year. During this pivotal time of their life, junior high students find a group which helps point them to the one true God who loves them immensely.

The senior high group participates in various conference and retreat opportunities which help them stay strong in their faith. Missions are a huge emphasis for this group, as they plan trips each summer to reach out to others in the name of Jesus. Senior high students learn that they are the church of today and are encouraged to serve their God here and now.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH

A special service specifically for children age 3 through 3rd grade is offered at the time of the adult service (children stay with the adults for part of the service then are dismissed to Children's Church.) The children's service has the same components as the adult service, just aimed directly at children and at their level of understanding. Thus, it includes prayer, worship, an offering, and a a message. In addition, illustrations, puppets, and other activities may be used to help capture and keep the children's attention.
